Continuing Education
Welcome to The Continuing Education Center:
Tyler Junior College's Continuing Education Program offers new experiences and challenges for
individuals to keep abreast of developments in their present occupations or to further their education for
new careers. Whether your needs are personal or professional, for learning new skills or just for the fun
of it, Tyler Junior College fills that need.
Who We Serve:
-
Individuals wanting to upgrade their
present skills enabling them to explore new occupational fields.
- Individuals and groups seeking
to enhance the quality of living in the community through cultural
and enrichment studies by providing opportunities to explore
new activities for personal growth and enjoyment.
- Business, industry, labor, government
and professional groups needing to supplement their own training
and development programs.
Because TJC is a post-secondary institution, most continuing education courses are designed for
adults (age 16 and up). However, as a service to the entire community, we also schedule many courses
for children and youth. Courses open to children and youth are identified either by course title,
description or special heading.
What We Offer:
- Initial career preparation
- Re-training to upgrade job-related skills
- Programs for business, industry, labor, government and professional groups
to supplement their own training and development
- Classes for personal growth and enhancement
of quality of life
- Cultural enrichment and recreational enjoyment for all ages.
There are many opportunities available. Take a look through our new course schedule.

News:
Currently under construction on the West Campus is the Skills Training Center, an innovative, joint project
with area public schools. The Skills Training Center will soon be home to the College's automotive technology
and welding technology departments. The center and its departments will be utilized by area high
school students taking part in concurrent enrollment programs, which offer the opportunity for college
credit prior to high school graduation. Many of the students continue their studies after graduating,
obtaining certification in technical fields to enter into the expanding job market.
